For those that have put their name on the list for the new Brambleton Winwood, have you received the new rates. I received mine and was wondering if you think those prices are good through mid 2011 or do you expect them to go up in September like they usually do. I can't beleive it will cost close to 37K to send two kids to daycare.

Are there discounts for multiple kids at Winwood? If so, what are they.

Seems like you could hire a full time nanny for 37Gs.

Wow, that's expensive, but I guess it depends on the age. My 2 in daycare cost a little over $20K.

And it would be worth every penny to have someone available all the time. The major flaw of daycare is it's over at 6pm and not open weekends. smile13.gif

Thanks for the clarification. smile13.gif You'd think I'd know Beantree's schedule after taking #2 there for 2.5 years.

Wow, does that ever validate the decision for my wife to stay home or what...(I'm talking purely about economics.)

37G's is around what we were paying for 2 kids at beantree. I do not know about Winwood but Kinderworks on Creighton's road ( which is affiliated to Winwood) offers a 10% discount for siblings.

We have been paying daycare costs of some sort or another for seven years now. Throughout those seven years, costs have risen so much that I am paying more now for a pre-k class than I did when my oldest was in an infant room. We are once again faced with the Kindgarten decision: full-time private or part-time public. We made, actually, my daughter made the decision on her own to go to public school. At the very last minute and after we had put a deposit down on private school. If you had asked me a few months ago if we would make the same decision for our nearly five-year-old son, I'd say probably not. But we are almost 100% certain that we are now for various reasons, including I think he's ready for a change and we have grandma close by to help. I am really, really, really looking forward to not paying over $1,000 a month for some sort of childcare.

This area is free market capitalism at its worst....People see these reports stating LC is the richest by median income and next thing you know you get 2k a week daycare and 600k homes. Both which you see driving highend cars. The federal govt needs to up the dependent care max. 5k is ridiculous.

Care to share the rates? We haven't received our packet yet.

I'm actually considering looking into a Montessori preschool for Juliana - at first glance, looks like it'll be cheaper than daycare...but I'll start a separate thread on that so as not to hijack the thread.

Make sure you check before and after care costs in your assessment....Usually the preschools are only for a portion of the day and don't cover early AM and PM care.

So at that rate, I am assuming the brambleton daycare is more a month than the one in ashburn?
