Well, I'm not beergut, but it's still pretty far out to make a strong prediction. There's not nearly as much moisture with this storm as the previous ones. Could still be looking at 6-10 inches if things stay on track, though. That number will probably change ten times before the storm hits.

Well this storm is actually able to tap into the Gulf of Mexico...Looking like .5 QPF with 15 to 20:1 ratios.

How about for Columbia, SC. My wife has to go Monday, if she can get there.

Well there is a storm type that dumps snow in the mid atlantic called a Miller A. The models have been showing it off and on for the past week.

"A Miller A type snowstorm has a low which originates in the Gulf; it intensifies and races up the east coast. EX: Superstorm 1993, Blizzard of 1996. These tend to be more widespread in area BUT can be less favorable for historic snows in New England. However, they can clobber portions of the Mid-Atlantic. "

Umm - you may want to check your downspouts before we get any more snow that makes them hard to get to or much more melting.

I had to take one of mine apart, one of the 2-3 foot sections and an elbow was full of solid ice. I knew there was something wrong when I saw that it was covered in a 1/2 inch sheet of ice and water was bubbling out at the top of the seam of this particular section. Luckily it was a section I could reach from the ground. I figured I was better off taking it apart (with out much finesse) and letting the water run freely even if I have to pay someone to put it back together for me.

I'd prefer a light dusting of snow however, the latest weather report for tomorrow is:
Snow flurries and snow showers. High 36F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 70%. Snow accumulations less than one inch.
Tomorrow night: Snow showers before midnight. Becoming partly cloudy later. Low near 25F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 40%. About one inch of snow expected.
