I have sent in our plans for a new patio to be reviewed on the Feb 6th meeting. Anyone have an idea on how long it takes to hear back?? We submitted plans for our deck 2 years ago, but I can't recall how long we waited... And our patio guy is raring to go...

pretty quick. I'd call the Monday after the meeting to see what happened with it.

Oops, the 6th is a Saturday. They're due on the 4th...and I think they meet on the 8th. That must be it. So w/in 1-2 business days, maybe?

Just go ahead and build anyway.

Haha. Well technically my neighbors all signed, so the concrete truck won't be to alarming...

Last year when we did our deck we got a call back the next day from Rosemarie. She checks over the applications and asks the questions that she perceives the board may ask to try to get more things approved the first time. You could double check with her (assuming she's still there--otherwise find out who is doing that) by calling the office.

That good karma kept me from ranting when they later sent us a property maintenance letter incorrectly.

Just curious... who monitors all this stuff for the HOA?

My name is Tom Gurganous, and I'm on the Covenants Committee. We'll look at the application next Monday night, and my guess is Rosemarie will contact you soon after. Just don't start the construction yet, because that could be a huge headache for you if your application needs a few changes. I hope this helps.

Thank you, Tom. I definitely will not start construction early! smile13.gif I appreciate your response. Sounds like it will be a pretty speedy process by your description.

I didn't know that! Good thing we followed the rules and got your signature when we had our patio installed. smile13.gif

Happy to help. The process is definitely pretty painless. As long as the application conforms to the association guidelines, there's no problem. If an issue does come up, Rosemarie will work with you to fix it and have the committee approve your application.

I wasn't on the committee when you installed the patio, but was happy to sign anyway. I joined a little while back, figuring it was a good way for me to get involved in the community.

Did HOA meet Monday? Any idea when we'll hear back about our patio??

The committee didn't meet on Monday due to weather. Rosemarie mentioned trying to scan the applications so we can view them online. She's trying to find a new date to meet, so as soon as I hear something, I'll let you know.

Thank you for the update! I figure no patio will be going in for a bit anyway...just curious.
