fingers crossed we may be ok, the direct early flight from San Diego did take off this morning and my 2:20 is still on schedule. I have heard they have one runway open so some flights are getting in.

I just heard a plane! I swear it was the first in two days. I hope this is a good sign for at least some travelers coming into or going out of Dulles.

I have a trip tomorrow morning but it doesn't look too good mainly because crews and airplanes are stranded all over the system. My trip is missing a few crew members and there are no more reserves left in base. The only way to get them is to fly them in from another base. It will be a long recovery day tomorrow.

I finally made it home!! We actually landed 15 minutes early. Then the reality set in, they only had one baggage claim station open that I could see, so that took a while for everything to come out. The one thing I didn't even think of was the taxi line, there were literally over 100 people in line and no cabs outside. Thankfully my wonderful wife woke up the boy and came and got me, but by the time I left the line there were another 100+ people behind me. I guess that is the one disadvantage of having an exclusive carrier and a limited amount of SUVs. All in all, it was 2 hours from the time I landed to the time I made it home, but it I could be in a hotel again tonight so am very thankful.

My 0830 flight to Nassau is scheduled optimistically to leave at 1100 now. My dear friend who has 40 years flying actually volunteered to dig out from her igloo to work the trip. Wow. Well, it should be a fun day smilie21.gif

Your big novel you've been working on for three years? Huh? Got a, got a compelling protagonist? Yeah? Got a obstacle for him to overcome? Huh? Got a story brewing there? Working on, working on that for quite some time? Huh? Yeah, talking about that three years ago. Been working on that the whole time? Nice little narrative? Beginning, middle, and end? Some friends become enemies, some enemies become friends? At the end your main character is richer from the experience? Yeah? Yeah? No, no, you deserve some time off.

Well, as much as I don't like the Bahamas, something about warm air and palm trees sounds really good.

It was great. All 30 minutes of it. I did a quick Nassau turn today. Passengers were asking me, "So is there really that much snow"? Ummm, yes.

I don't think so. Flights will probably be close to on time tomorrow and I heard that the airport may close again late Tuesday through Thursday morning.

You forgot Grad school and 3 kids and..... smilie21.gif

Anyway, about the airport...my Caribbean trip leaving on Wednesday was just cancelled a moment ago. I don't remember the airline ever doing that so soon, ever. I guess I'll take the WHOLE day off, hehe.

Damn we were hoping to go with you wink2.gif We looked at flights and can't book anything international leaving tomorrow am. We then started looking at flights in the US to anywhere warm and just didn't find anything great ...so I guess we are staying put and just dealing with the storm like everyone else.

Crank your heat to 90+, put on shorts, and pour some rum drinks. Oh, and put some Bob Marley on too. Trust me, it may be our plans.
