I just looked Leonard Nimoy up on Wikipedia, and it says he's 76.
Shouldn't a person stop wearing fake pointy ears by the time they're 50? -------------------- "I'm over here in my unit, isolated and alone, eating my terrible tasting food, and I have to look over at that. That looks like the most fun I've ever seen in my entire life, and it's B.S. - excuse my language. I'm just saying that I wash and dry; I'm like a single mother. Look, we all know home-ec is a joke - no offense - it's just that everyone takes this class to get an A, and it's bulls*it - and I'm sorry. I'm not putting down your profession, but it's just the way I feel. I don't want to sit here, all by myself, cooking this s*itty food - no offense - and I just think that I don't need to cook tiramisu. Am I going to be a chef? No. There's three weeks left of school, give me a f*ckin' break! I'm sorry for cursing."

Zach Quinto is an excellent choice for Spock. His resemblance to Leonard Nimoy is uncanny. And fwiw, for a 76-year-old guy Leonard's looking great.
Now we'll see who they cast for Kirk, McCoy and Scotty. -------------------- |

How did I miss this thread the first time around? Matt Damon as kirk. Think about it. I could see it. I was just reading Entertainment Weekly, and they had an online survey to see who should play Kirk; 52% of those surveyed wanted Nathan Fillion. The others were: William Shatner, 18%; Shia LaBeouf, 17%, and Luke Wilson, 13%. -------------------- I'm celebrating my love for you with a pint of beer and a new tattoo

Nathan.... My Firefly side has already written the plot in his head around him, but reality is poking it's luke wilson sized nose in. -------------------- Jubilee: How did you do that?

My Firefly side has already written the plot in his head around him, but reality is poking it's luke wilson sized nose in. All of those guys are too old to play a kirk in his late twenties/early thirties. A shame that Abrams is shooting for that age bracket... I think Matt Damon would have made an awesome Kirk. My prediction: it will be someone who looks familiar but whose name you probably won't recognize. -------------------- |

QUOTE [JAMES KIRK] 23-29 Handsome, cocky self assured and earnest. Great physical condition. 6 ft or less [LEONARD(BONES)MCOY] -28-32 Medic on the Enterprise. Smart, clever and a bit danger-loving. Dark hair, blue eyes. [UHURA] 25ish -African American. Brilliant, beautiful, heroic and FUN!, Uhura is almost tom-boyish - as if she grew up in a houseful of brothers. [SULU] 25-32 -Asian American male (preferably Japanese). Helmsman on the Enterprise. Extremely fit, capable and dedicated. A bit of a wildcat [MONTGOMERY(SCOTTY) SCOTT] -28-32 a brilliant ship's engineer. Must be able to do a flawless Scottish accent! Kirk: Ryan Philippe would be good, but he's a little too old. Chris Evans, maybe? McCoy: Cillian Murphy Uhura: Beyonce Sulu: Apolo Anton Ohno (I know he's not really an actor, but still) Scotty: James McAvoy -------------------- I'm celebrating my love for you with a pint of beer and a new tattoo
